AOA CHROMIUM CARBIDE CLAD PLATE
WHY IS AOA MK2 A SUPERIOR PLATE?
(a)The high carbon (C) analysis when combined with the chromium (Cr) forms a much higher percentage of the hard wearing chrome carbides. The extra 1% carbon in AOA MK2 plate more than doubles the chromuim carbide content and this is reflected in the wear life.
(b)In addition only AOA uses alloy rich tubular hard facing wire in the manufacture of wear plate. This wire, couples with the AOA cladding procedure, gives the carbide rich analysis along with controlled dilution of the substrate material.
(c)The AOA MK2 plate in service has consistently given over twice the wear life of opposition plate of equal thickness. On copper slag launders AOA MK2 plate with 8mm hard facing outlasted Opposition plate with 12mm hard facing by a factor of over 2:1.
AOA MK1 WEAR PLATE
AOA MK1 plate gives less life than AOA MK2 plate.
However, it is ideal for use in less severe applications where price is more important. AOA MK1 grade has similar wear characteristics to opposition plate, however it will take greater impact due to improved technique for hard surfacing. The AOA hard surfacing procedure prevents the deep penetration of the weld deposit into the substrate material. Deep penetration in opposition plate can give breakage in service.

AOA MK3 wear plate has superior wear resistant characteristics to any other wear plate on the market. High resistance to extreme abrasion, moderate impact, high temperatures and corrossive environments together with its versatility in application makes this the ultimate in wear resistant plating.
